Certification Center
Summit is committed to strict compliance with all applicable
regulations as set forth by agencies such as:
• The European Telecommunications
Standards Institute (ETSI, the standards body applicable to most
of Europe, Africa, the Middle East and parts of Asia)
• The Federal Communications
Commission (FCC, the regulatory agency and standards body for
the Americas and parts of Asia)
• Industry Canada (IC, the
regulatory agency and standards body for Canada)
• The Telecom
Engineering Center (TELEC, the standards body for Japan)
In addition, Summit is equally committed to tested and certified
compliance with key industry standards from the
Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) as well as
compliance with the most recent versions of the
Cisco Compatible Extensions (CCX). Summit has authored an
informative
White Paper
that details key features found in the Cisco Compatible Extensions
(CCX) and how they can be best deployed to provide an enhanced
feature set specifically for mobile computers operating with Cisco's
industry-leading wireless infrastructure.
At Summit, we believe that it’s not enough to simply earn these
certifications. We believe that helping our customers achieve these
certifications for their Summit-equipped devices is part of our
product, our solution and our responsibility.
With the existing grants, test reports and approvals for our family
of wireless LAN modules, Summit can minimize the cost, time and
complexity of attaining all required certifications for:
• Portable Devices (those devices that typically operate at distances
greater than 20cm or 7.9 inches from the human body, such as vehicle
mounted terminals)
• Mobile Devices (those devices which typically operate at
distances less than 20cm or 7.9 inches from the human body, such as
body-worn Portable Data Terminals).
All Summit devices are fully compliant with European Union Directive
2003/95/EC or Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) as per our
Declaration of
Compliance.
